1. Exercise.
Get at least 20 minutes of exercise four times a week. It will reduce a decrease in your mood and energy. Ex. Go to the gym or try indoor yoga
2. Stick to a sleep routine.
Establish a regular sleep schedule. Wake up and go to bed at the same time daily. Allow yourself a month to get used to the schedule, and be sure to get seven hours of sleep nightly.
3. Eat a healthy diet.
A healthy diet boosts your energy. It also promotes better mood and overall health. Ex. Fruits and vegetables
4. Go on a vacation/mini-vacation.
If your work schedule permits you to and you can afford it, plan a trip. Travel to a warmer climate. It will reinvigorate your spirit and give you something to look forward to.
5. Listen to music.
Listen to upbeat music. It will improve your mood, and increase the endorphins (feel good chemicals) in your brain. Ex. R and B music or Hip hop music
6. Go outside.
Spending time outside (even when it’s cold) will boost your focus and lower stress levels. Just 15 minutes out in the cold daily can help fight your winter blues. Ex. Take a walk or sit on your porch
7. Stay social.
Stay social during the winter season and months. Don’t hibernate or isolate yourself. Stay connected to and spend time with friends and family members.
I like the Plan Something. You give yourself a purpose.
I saw this image on Insta recently from another person’s account & thought how amazing it was. Guess you thought the same and took a photo! The little things really can add up & the winter blues shouldn’t be underestimated. xx
