The best gift I’ve ever received in life is the gift of education. I write this because from an early age, my mother instilled in me the importance of having a good education and making good grades in school. She said that getting a good education would one day lead me far in life, and help me get a good job someday. She was right about both of those facts. Because of her, I earned 3 degrees. I have an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degrees in English. My schooling journey is over now. Yet, education has and will always be important to me, and a vital part of my life’s story. The second best gift I’ve ever received in life were flowers from an in-law on my twenty-ffth birthday. They were special because it was the first time anyone had ever bought flowers for me in life, and because the gift was thoughtful. I had told everyone weeks before my birthday what I wanted, and the fact that she had remembered moved and touched me.
What’s the best gift you’ve ever received in life?
Happy New Year, all! 🙂
Education was important in my family. I wanted to follow in my Dad’s footsteps. My education career was good for me. The greatest gift, other than my children and grandchildren;), was accepting the free gift of love from Christ! I know it’s not a physical gift; yet, nothing has ever compared!
Great post, thanks for commenting. It’s wonderful you followed in your dad’s footsteps. Yes, that goes without saying. I don’t have children or grandchildren yet, but my relationship with God is one of the best gifts I’ve received in life as well.
Aww, thank you, too! Amen! I was thinking also of a beautiful leather-bound journal given to me by my best friend. ❣️🙏🏻
That was such a beautiful and thoughtful gift. Thank God for such wonderful friends!
I have received so many gifts from God, but to list these would take a long time. The early gifts of books turned me into a book worm, and my love of books has continued throughout my life. Books lead me on so many journeys and evolved into a love for other things as well. Today, the only book I read is the Bible, because it’s wisdom is inexhaustible and life-changing.
Yes, I’m grateful for my love of books and reading and writing as well as my belief in and relationship with God daily.
I have had many wonderful gifts during my life. . . a wonderful mother, like you have, and a champion husband who has worked hard to provide for me. The greatest give of all, however, is the gift of eternal life through Jesus.
My dear mother passed away 4 years ago, but I’ll never forget the things she taught me. That goes without saying, Mary. Where would I be, and who could I be without the gift of Jesus Christ and His love in my life?
That is such a precious response. I relate so well, because it was my mother, also, who introduced me to Jesus Christ. She has passed away, but her memory lives on and I miss her beautiful spirit and the love she exhibited for our Savior.
Congratulations on obtaining your education goals! I have to agree with many of the comments I’ve read, the greatest gift I have received is the free gift of salvation from my Savior, Jesus Christ. God bless you!
Thanks, and Hallejuah! God bless you too!
Education is also very important to me. I’ll have to say the greatest gift life has given me are my two kids.
What a sweet authentic response!
The best gifts I’ve received have all been homemade because they came from the heart. ❤
Awesome response!
