How I Found My Purpose In Life And How You Can Find Yours Too

Once upon a time, I wandered aimlessly through life doing what I wanted to do when I wanted to do it, neither knowing or caring that I was placed on earth for a specific reason and purpose. I didn’t live a bad lifestyle and I wasn’t a bad person, but I wasn’t really concerned about godly things such as God’s purpose for my life, His calling on my life, or His will for my life either. Then, while pursuing my undergraduate degree (bachelor’s degree) in English at an Christian university, I was taught in one of my classes that God has an specific plan, purpose, and calling on and for all of our lives, whether or not we know it yet. After that, naturally I started to wonder and question what God’s purpose and calling for my life was, starting to pray to God that He would reveal to me what His purpose and calling on my life was. Not long after praying for God to reveal to me what my purpose in life was, I got my answer when God confirmed to me that my spiritual gift was the gift of encouragement through a friend, and that I should combine that with my love of writing to inspire and motivate the world, which led me to believe that my purpose is to inspire and motivate the world, which it is. God also revealed to me what my calling was through my passion for writing. Writing was the thing that I loved to do most, it brought me the most happiness and joy. It was also the thing that I had always been really good at in life, and the one special gift I felt God had given to me when He was giving out talents. Thus, I realized that God’s purpose for my life and calling on my life was to inspire and motivate through my gift of writing about nine years ago. Don’t know what your purpose in life is yet? Don’t worry or fret about it. I was 25 years old before I realized what my purpose and calling in life were, and some people never do realize their purposes and callings in life, though God wants us all to. Below are three tips on how you can discover what your purpose is in life if you want to know what it is.

1. Listen to feedback from and ask others about things you’re good at and things they think you’re good at it.

2. Explore your passions. Passions are the things you enjoy doing and that make you happy in life when you’re doing them. Explore them, embrace them, and ask yourself if one of them could be related or connected to your life’s purpose.

3. Think about what skills and talents you might have. Then, brainstorm how those skills and talents might contribute and or add to your life’s purpose or make it meaningful.

Happy April, all! πŸ™‚
